Our Story – How AquFish Began
We all began as individuals with a passion for change. It took days and weeks to come up with what truly brought Aqufish into inception. Then one day the team decided to bootstrap themselves into the world of technology and aquaculture.
The “Aha!” Moment
Originally, Aqufish had an idea to build an auto-feeder, but as the team progressed with their early prototype, both farmers and members of Aqufish struck a problem – the auto-feeder doesn’t solve the actual issue of fish farmers.
70% of fish farmer’s cost consist of FEEDING
It comes to no surprise that cost of feed had skyrocketed since the post pandemic days of COVID-19. As the world enters a new economic era with unpredictable conditions due to differences in geopolitical condition and trade conflicts, feed prices face an enormous fluctuation in prices. However, this is only the surface of what we’ve discovered.
Manually Operated In A Digital Era
After testing our prototype auto-feeder, we’ve discovered where feeding is but a surface problem stemming from a bigger issue – majority of fish farmers still perform the weighing process manually. This process itself is tedious,
time consuming, and most of all doesn’t consider variations that is often beyond their control.
Aquaculture Intelligence Platform
The AquMonitor was developed with precision feeding in mind, and AI-driven database, focusing on impact where fish farmers are able to see a difference in their operations and profitability. Furthermore, with the adoption of technology, our solution is more focused on enhancing farmer’s methods instead of replacing existing practices, all powered with AI.
